Oh, you guys are going to make me cry! Your entries were very touching, some were
(literally) out of this world and others were just slightly off the mark. But only those who were true in their words to the meaning of this year's motto won.
Congratulations to the following users who have scored themselves the grand prize:

What does "One world, one dream" mean to me? Well, in my opinion, it means bringing friends and families together to share a common goal. What's the goal, you ask? Well for the Olympics, it's unity. For my family and I, however, it's been friendship. I go to a small private school, and every time a new foreign exchange student comes, I open my heart to them. Little did I know that they would open their heart to me, too! I met my best friend a year ago through a foreign exchange program, and even though she's back in her home country, I can talk with her through email and we're still best friends. I think it's great for people to try and make friends with other people. So what if they don't know as much of your native language as you do! There's an opportunity awaiting you. That opportunity is called friendship. My friend and I achieved our goal, and I hope others can do the same through the Olympics, where sharing a common goal can bring you together so you can learn to love one another.

All eyes are on China as I write this. "Athletes from around the world come to play, even from the small countries that people are not known to see often!" I said to myself while watching the Olympic opening ceremony player & country announcements. Even from war-torn countries like Georgia, Iraq, and Sudan come some of the most eager contenders I have seen a large amount of time. Watching the Olympic Ceremonies reminds me of the good & the bad times happening all over the world. "How so?", you may ask. Well, there are PLENTY of conflicts happening around the world, most people are assured of that. However, most people do not realize how good of an experience the Olympics is for a player of a foreign developing country is. Taking their mind off a conflict arising in their country, meeting other players, competing.. and just having fun! I'm grateful there's an event like the Olympics to provide such an amazing and new experience for great athletes from all over the world. Not for players just to show their talent, but giving them an outstanding memory that lasts a lifetime, through even the roughest of times. I think "One World One Dream" reminds us all of the global pursuit of happiness, to have good times, and for all of us to unite in a competition like the Olympics. I leave you all with a simple message, realize how lucky people people are to have the Olympics this year.

I think One World, One Dream pretty much means we all can't be winners but we can try our best to get that dream and achieve our goal. I also think it reunites all the countries together for a celebration we can all celebrate and be part of. It's great that all the countries participate because then the people at home have someone to cheer for.

To me, “One World One Dream” means a lot. It symbolises that everyone is equal and should strive to reach their dreams. Barriers will appear along the road but persevere for there’s no greater punishment to yourself than abandoning your dreams. Everyone has their own dream, a dream to aim for, for without dreams, who are we? We live together in an imperfect world engulfed by war, but countries are uniting together, as one world, aiming for that one dream.
As many countries are involved in the Olympic Games, it can only promote peace and harmony amongst these countries to generate and to strengthen the bond of humanity. Which in time, will lead to a better future, this is what I believe it means for the future of our world.

I think the motto "One World One Dream" means that we all live in this world, and we should be all dreaming for the same thing. To make everyone feel welcomed and wanted, for everyone to get along with each other, and for there to be peace. Everyone in this world does something big to help towards achieving that dream, and the Olympics are a good example of everyone working together to achieve their goals.

I don't think one world one dream means literally what it says. Of course, not everybody dreams about the same thing. But it shows how similar everyone really is. No matter what our religion, ethnicity, or ancestry is, we are all human beings. We are all people, and should all be treated equally. As for the future of our world, this phrase means that we should all be treated equally because we are all relatable with one another. So, I really don't think the phrase has anything to do
with the Olympics specifically, but that it means something more.
