You may be wondering what this website is all about and what it has to do with your child. In this section, we aim to provide you with information regarding our services, how we operate BittyBay, and why your child is taking advantage of what we have to offer.

What is BittyBay?

BittyBay is an online virtual chat experience. Kids from all over the world have fun at BittyBay by playing games, collecting avatars and items, decorating their own personal spaces (called "Territories"), socialzing with other players, and most importantly being who they want to be. The BittyBay world is designed to stimulate players into using their imaginations by exploring this fascinating virtual realm of animals and nature. Virtual pets are a thing of the past; now you can be the animal!

Is it free to play?

Yes, BittyBay is completely free to join. However, users have the option to pay for exclusive benefits within the game such as items for their rooms or new avatars. Purchasing extra services is not compulsory and does not prohibit the user from enjoying other features of the game. We request that all users ask for permission from the bill payer before making any purchases; users found not doing so are permanently banned from the website as it is a breach of our terms and the law.

Is BittyBay a safe environment for my child?

BittyBay is monitored throughout the day by professionally trained moderators. The moderators of BittyBay have the power to alert, kick or ban any user who breaks the rules and will do so when and where required. In addition, your child is able to contact an online moderator if or when he/she is in trouble. The moderator will assess the situation and will take appropriate action to resolve the situation.

Everything a user types is filtered before it is displayed on the screen. This means that any offensive or derogatory language is "bleeped"; this ensures that our users are submerged in a safe a positive environment. In addition to this, moderators and staff have the power to monitor any and all chat logs at any time. Rule-breakers are dealt with and any suspicious behaviour may be reported to the authorities.

We take your child's safety very seriously. This is why we often post articles on our website that are designed to educate users on how to be safe whilst playing BittyBay and surfing the Internet. We exercise appropriate precautions to ensure that all our users can enjoy our services without any risk to their safety or well-being. Why do you collect my child's personal details?

Upon registration, we ask that users provide us with their e-mail address and date of birth. The reason for this is that so we can provide the user with appropriate customer/player support. In addition to this, if the user forgets his/her password, we require their e-mail in order to send out a new password and the date of birth to verify their account. If the user cannot provide us with the date of birth he/she entered upon registration, then we assume that someone is trying to steal the users account. We have a strict Privacy Policy and will not disclose any of your child's personal details to any individual or company other than BittyBay.

Can my child's BittyBay account be stolen?

Your child's account cannot be stolen if he/she follows our simple Code of Conduct. If a user does not reveal his/her password, then the account cannot be stolen. However, other users are able to trick innocent players into giving them their passwords. These "scammers" may also ask a user to visit websites that contain nasty viruses or key-loggers which are able to retrieve the user's password. To combat these occurrences, we provide regular safety information to users to remind them of such dangers and how to avoid these situations. We also educate users at all given opportunities about account safety and what not to do whilst in BittyBay. However, some users still fall into the trap of a "scammer", and BittyBay cannot take responsibility for this. Items that are stolen cannot be recovered and refunds will not be given. Each player must take responsibility for their own account safety.
