Learn the origins of the gophers in BittyBay.
The Life and History of T. Gopher
As documented by BarryTrotter, BittyBay Historian
The Gopher, as he has been known throughout his entire life is a curious creature that we see every day; he comes up every 20 to 70 minutes just to hand out 5 bits to whoever can click on him first. But nobody knows, why or how he does this. What are his motivations? Ladies and Gentlemen of the Bay, today is your lucky day as we submerge into the depths of memory and recount the known history of
Mr. T Gopher.
It all started long before the lion's arrived on the shore of BittyBay, a colony of gophers lived peacefully throughout its many territories and wide open spaces. The gophers would travel unhindered across the lands in search for the item they called 'Bits' which they used as a currency in trading items, such as the simple wooden rafts they used to get between places quickly.
The existence of this island, for it had no name went unnoticed for a long time. That is, until three adventurous lions decided to hire out a boat and go for a long trip. Those lions were non other then the three we know as Spire, Mystiko and Trent.
Our little gopher friends were alerted of the presence of the high-powered speed boat by a poor little fellow that had drifted slightly out to sea on his wooden raft. They only had a few minutes to prepare themselves for the arrival of these strange new creatures and their odd contraption. The only thing they could do was sending all the little gophers and their mums into the Burrow with some male protectors and hide the entrance from the strange creatures.
The large golden creatures ran up the beach seemingly excited at this deserted island they had found. One of them pulled out a tiny green device and used small black pen to draw what he saw. One of the others decided to take a walk and see what else was on the island. The last of the three walked back over to the boat and called some friends.
Later that day there was large work being done on the island; new friends had joined the three. Their names were Jellybeans, Jon and Dasaii. Everyone was working frantically, preparing the deserted island for opening. Yes, that's right - opening. They build the entrance and put out seats, also putting up 'No Entry' signs to large parts of the island, preparing them for later.
The gophers were starting to get used to life in the burrow, still managing to find food and their large stash of the golden items known as Bits remained a total secret. It was months before the lions ever thought of looking below the surface for a new place for their visitors to explore. All the lions grabbed a sparkly gold shovel and started digging down deep into the earth. They dug for a week and a half slowly going down into the earth. During this digging shift, Dasaii leaned against the wall of the tunnel and was suddenly sprawled on the floor, surrounded by lots of little gophers. Spire immediately heard something had happened and jumped right into the hole to protect his friend, letting out an ear-splitting growl he told the gophers to back away.
Several days pass by with Spire spending much time down the hole, talking to the little critters they had stumbled upon. Their representative was none other than The Gopher. They managed to come to an agreement with enough living space and free food for the gophers, but only as long as they were to help create a new game for all the wonderful guests to enjoy.
It was from that day forth that The Gopher earned his little hat to find his way to the surface, and his little Bits pouch in which he would always have 5 bits. He never gave any warning as to when he was coming, but he always came at least once every hour, up to the surface for some lucky guest to earn some extra pocket money.
And that my friends was the story of The Gopher, the rest of the story I'm sure you all know, it happens every hour of every day and we're all a part of this wonderful story now.
Yours,
BarryTrotter
